I didn't have the opportunity to review my 2012 as I was lost in the space holding my 4-day old newborn baby at the end of 2012.
As I recap my sweet memories for these two years all together summarizing my achievement by the age of 30, I feel so blessed and thankful that I was given the chance to breathe with all these blessings.
The best thing that happened in these two years was when I gave birth to my little angel, the Iris of my eye. Probably going to be the best thing ever in my life. Nothing can be better and sweeter than that. Thank You, Allah, for this gift.
One year has passed and my angel is already 1 year old now. I thank Allah for the rezeki given for being able to exclusive breastfeed her for 6 months and continue to breastfeed her up to 1 year old. Hoping to continue until she turns 1.5 years old, at minimum, insyaAllah.
2012 also witnessed our rezeki in buying our own property, can't wait for the construction to complete next year.
I ended my 2013 with my rezeki in getting a new job, Alhamdulillah, a professional, government body that administers the financial institution in Malaysia. The working lifestyle, masyaAllah balanced without sacrificing salary range, is all I ever wanted.
Syukran ya Allah... kerana masih mampu bernafas dengan segala keindahan rezeki mu. Ameen.

Respect
Sepatutnya kita saling hormat-menghormati.
Kenapa orang melayu/muslim selalu kecoh sangat non-muslim makan pork depan kita, masuk masjid tak tutup aurat.
Takpe?
The problem with us is, we always think that we are at the top. We are in the right religion, faith and belief. Orang lain semua sesat. Don’t get me wrong, not that I am opposing that fact. I am proud to be a muslim. I am thankful to God that I was born muslim.
Tapi tak semua orang bernasib baik seperti yang kita rasa. Tak kisah kita dilahirkan dalam agama apa pun, we will feel that our religion is the most accurate and truthful. You were just lucky that you were born a muslim, the religion that You think is right for everyone.
Tak perlu lah mendabik dada. Perbaiki diri sendiri as a true muslim before you can criticize or reprimand other religion.
(If you do not fall in any of the category, jangan la terasa pedas)

I would if I could
Each time I want to write about this issue, I’ll be saddened by the photos that I collected for publishing. Tak sampai hati to even look at it.
I have asked this question once. “Can I adopt?” I am not talking about 5 years from now. I want to adopt NOW! These babies need people like us to adopt them. But often, I get this, “No, you are not fit financially, they won’t let you take”. Is it true? I don’t know.
I always pray to God, “Ya Allah, please give me the strength and the means in the future to do something about this. Please make me financially stable (more than stable maybe) to be able to build a house one day for these kids that can call me Umi.” And by that time, I want to tell those stupid m*****f**k**s to give their babies to me, please do not KILL them. Tapi sekarang, apakan daya… aku tak mampu… I would, if I could!
I was touched by one advert in a national TV programme. “Dalam dunia haiwan tidak ada manusia. Tapi… dalam dunia manusia ada banyak haiwan”. It is true. Why is this happening to our world? And, if you read again the collections of news on this issue, MAJORITY if not all, were committed by malay muslim. WHY?
Situasi macam ni seolah-olah tak dapat dibendung lagi.. Dia makin menjadi-jadi. What are we doing about this? Mungkin setakat belajar agama sahaja tak cukup. Some say sex education is important. Some say pelajaran moral tak cukup. Some even say pengaruh kawan-kawan. Some blame the family background. But I’d say the surroundings. Surrounding of a child includes family, friends, education, and religion, everything you can think of. I am not a pious woman, nor I am good at teaching children (I don’t have any), so some would say it’s not my place to say this. But I have an opinion on my own.
Adakah it happens to others too, tapi media tak publish? Or adakah benda ni memang hanya synonym dengan masyarakat melayu? Agama kita talks about everything yang melarang kita buat benda-benda yang tak elok, apatah lagi MEMBUNUH.
Who are you to take away someone’s life? Someone that you carry for 9 months? Someone that you conceived with your own flesh and blood? Kalau tak nak, bagi lah orang lain..jangan la kejam.. so inhuman.
Generally I think because orang melayu ni lebih nak ajar agama pada anak-anak, but never really expose anything about sex. Naturally, youngsters, they are always curious and always want to know and try out something. So if you don’t teach it at home, they learn themselves elsewhere, chances are.. they got the wrong guru, who only taught them through practical experiment, not theoretically.
And one thing I notice about our culture is that, there is very low acceptance on child born out of wedlock. “Biar mati anak, jangan mati adat”. Semua hanya kerana nak menyelamatkan maruah. Masa tengah syok, tak ingat maruah.
For the parents, bukan la aku sokong to accept anak yang mengandung luar nikah. Tapi when damage has been done, terima sahaja and cari penyelesaian baru. Membunuh is not even an option. Kalau dah buat dosa, jangan la tambahkan dosa yang lagi hebat.
Mungkin God has better plans for them. Tapi bila diperlakukan macam ni, tempatnya hanyalah syurga. But YOU? Lagi nak bunuh…double the sin? aduhai perempuan sial…

Tapi…makcik jual kuih, pakcik kedai runcit, abang cuci kereta, kakak jual sayur, semua masih lagi bercuti sakan.
C’mon…. macam mana ekonomi orang melayu nak maju?
Myself? Walaupun saya balik kampong, saya juga masih berkerja seperti biasa.

We oso celebrate, maaah!
My client dropped by in our workplace earlier today. He asked if anyone of us are going back hometown. One of my staff is a local so she celebrates CNY in KL. The other is just going back Seremban and I answered, yes as my family and I are visiting my grandparents in Ipoh. But to avoid the bad traffic on Saturday, we plan to leave on Sunday night to the north.
My client say “Tengok, biasalah macam tu kan… orang cina yang celebrate, tapi banyak yang penuh kat jalan raya balaik kampong is orang melayu, kan? Bagi la chance kat orang cina balik kampung”. I was damn annoyed with his statement.
Short of saying, “Kita ni orang Malaysia, semua orang dalam Negara ni enjoy each holiday given tak kisah la celebrate ke tak. Anyway, kita kan One Malaysia. Kenapa kene ada diskriminasi? Kalau bulan puasa pun the Chinese would also enjoy the food bazaar every evening”.
But I didn’t. Because saying these, would have to make myself sound rude.
But I am still annoyed.

Mas Kahwin
There was a recent announcement on mas kahwin has been increased from RM 80 to RM 100 and now to RM 300 in Selangor.
Apa komen orang?
Mahal.
Semakin banyak la anak dara yang tak berkawin.
Melampau.
Bebanan.
Yang beban sebenarnya, bila kita nak pelamin Pak Abu, bila kita nak baju pengantin Razuan Raziwil, bila kita nak hantaran handbag LV, kasut CD, jam tangan Phillipe Patek, wang hantaran RM 30,000.
Itu yang beban. Tapi itu yang orang nampak. So itu kene lah mahal.
Orang tak tanya mas kawin tu berapa. So kalau RM 80 pun takper. The highlight is… berapa hantaran? Itu lah status.
Mas kawin adalah sesuatu yang wajib. It belongs to the bride and tak ada sesiapa yang boleh ambil duit itu other than the bride herself. Bukan kah itu indah?
Kalau mas kawin setakat RM 80, sekali makan kat Tony Roma’s dah habis.
Hey ladies! Memalukan and you sound so stupid. Orang buat something untuk menaikkan martabat perempuan. Awak pulak cakap tak patut sebab mahal sangat. Yang kau kawin grand nak mampos tu, tak melampau.
I think you should be banned from the media. Whatever comes out from your mouth is so stupid.
Bukan barang-barang je affected by inflation rate.
Perkahwinan juga!

Pencuri
As I was lazily browsing through my facebook, ntah kenapa tergerak kat hati ni nak type perkataan ‘’Malaysia’ through the search box. And I found these.
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=123322767982&ref=search&sid=709495314.375588017..1
I started typing ‘Indonesia’ to see if anyone of our own people had created such uncivilized groups.
None.
Betul ke Malaysia ni maling (pencuri). Oh, I better not use the word, nanti dituduh pencuri bahasa.
My point is, wajar ke tuduhan pencuri tu ke atas kita? Bukan ke kita ni sama-sama bangsa melayu? Malaysian malay, Indonesian Malay, Singaporean Malay and Bruneian Malay. Most of our Malaysian people pun berasal dari Indonesia dan negara-negara sekeliling.
It is how we promote our culture. It is how we go around the globe and share our culture to the world. Semua tu adalah culture ‘MELAYU’ bukan Malaysia, bukan Indonesia, bukan Singapura. So happen our Malaysian people know better in promoting our culture.
Pencuri ke tu? Kami pun melayu juga.
Apa pun, Malaysia instantly stopped the promo on dicovery channels and meminta maaf. Tapi masih tak puas agaknya.
Heran.
Dalam masalah dunia, economy crisis, H1N1, orang gaji demand lebih-lebih (kerja tak bagus mana pun), literally mencuri dan merompak physically duit dan jewelleries, deorang masih lagi nak kecoh pasal TARIAN?
I don’t even know what the hell is tarian pendet.
Sampai perang-perang jadinya.
Hari tu on raya eve, I saw on TV about the news of the death of Noordin Mat Top, the Malaysian terrorist that was successfully killed by the Indonesian authorities.
Ketua polis ke whatever his pangkat is commented on the news about the success.
Mr whoever you are, I really think it was an unfair statement. For someone at the topmost authority level, keluar dalam tv news and say such thing.. is very… shall I say… uneducated? C’mon, whatever the issue is, you cannot be criticizing other countries secara terbuka. Especially kepada Negara jiran. Diplomatic la sikit kalau ye pun.
Like our PM said, terrorism is a global issue. It is unfair to say that Malaysia is the breeding ground for terrorists.
Benci Malaysian? Anti Malaysia?
Few of Malaysian websites telah diserang Indonesian hackers on our Independence Day.
Bendera Malaysia dibakar dan dipijak-pijak dengan rakus sekali at few locations in Indonesia.
Serangan terhadap Kedutaan Malaysia di Indonesia.
Intention untuk menghalau our medical students from their country.
Malaysia masih berdiam diri.
Bukan pengecut.
Tapi educated, civilized, democracy.
Bila berlaku bencana alam seperti gempa bumi di sana…
None.

Perikemanusiaan
She was in the car with her parents and siblings.
Traffic light turned red, and they stopped.
She saw a young man squatting under the tree by the roadside on a broad daylight. He looked weak, and lost.
She just made a simple remark.
“Kesian orang tu. Duduk kat luar panas-panas ni”. When she said that, she really meant it.
One of the people in the car made a stupid remark.
“Ha ah la.. kesian.. Eleh tapi cina, tak payah kesian!”
WTH?
Bukan ke perikemanusiaan itu tak kenal bangsa?

I ain't an angel
Mungkin dalam kebanyakan entries posted to my blog akan mungkin ada di antaranya yang will get people offended.
Sharing is important.
Tapi jauh sekali niat ku untuk mengaibkan orang, kerana dalam apa saja penulisan ku yang sebegitu, tak pernah aku menamakan sesiapa, walaupun the disagreement is against my own mother. But I still let it out. I NEED to vent it out kerana mungkin itu adalah sesuatu yang aku rasa tak patut berlaku. Dan aku tak mampu mengubah keadaan.
Not because she’s my mother, I don’t talk about things that I disagree with her in my entries. I do. A lot. Hakikatnya, I won’t give names sebab itu bukan niat ku. The aim is just to get my messages across.
Bukan lah maksudnya aku ni baik, alim jauh sekali.

Oh Ibu
Today I went on emergency leave. My dad’s aunt passed away. For the first time in so many funerals I’ve been to, this was really agonizing. I actually cried while kissing allahyarhamah. I guess it is more touching if it’s a lady who passed away. You cannot imagine if it’s your mother. Your world will turn upside down.
In the car I was listening to this malay radio station. And suddenly this song came on air.
Oh! Ibu
Kau disiram bayu pagi
Kehilangan terasa kini
Dan kesepian
Dan aku
Bagai purnama gerhana
Di ibarat lautan kering
Tiada tempat ku layarkan
Hasratku ini
Masih belum sempat
Kubuktikannya kepadamu
Ibu tersayang
Kucurahkan rasa hati
Ku tatapi potret mu berulang kali
Kurenungkan kalimah yang diberi
Tuhan Yang Esa
Ampuni dosa ibu
Tempatkan mereka
Di antara kekasih kekasihMu
Oh! Ibu Kau kasih sejati
Kutaburkan doa
Untukmu ibu
Ampunilah dosaku
Sejak ku dilahirkan Hingga akhir hayatmu
Saat ini Kuteruskan hidup
Tanpa bersamamu ibu
The first time I listened to this song, I was really small. Small in age, small in size, small in everything.. So setakat nyanyi je la lagu Exist.
But now, when I’ve grown bigger (also in everything), I come to realize; it is more than just ‘Exist’. Listen to the lyrics, and you’ll feel it.
I know that I have hurt my mummy so many times, in a lot of ways. She is the only one who has to put up with my dad, my bro and me. And she is never tired of us.
Kadang-kadang, kita tak sedar percakapan kita ada buat our mothers terguris hati. Ustazah kata, sikit hati mak terguris, tak cium bau syurga.
Jangan sampai dah tak sempat nanti, baru nak menyesal, because by the time, it will be too late.. Too late to let her know that you didn’t mean to hurt her, too late to let her know that you are sorry, too late to let her know that you love her and always have.
So, friends, if your mothers are still alive, treasure them while you still can. Memang everybody knows how much they love their mothers.. Semua orang boleh cakap "mom is the best", "I love my mom so much and I will never do anything that will hurt her"..
Tapi sometimes, kita lupa, hari-hari kerja teruk, and kita lupa beritahu kita sayang, but we think it's normal. Or kita lalai, kita terlepas cakap and terkasar and we think it's normal..
Maybe what we can do now is, pergi kat dia or call them, ask for forgiveness untuk kesilapan-kesilapan yang kita tak pernah sedar.
And start fresh...

John Winston Lennon
A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality
As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot
Everything is clearer when you're in love
I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Muhammad and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong
I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people
If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal
My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all
Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it
Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted
Will the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands? And the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewelry
You don't need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are!
You either get tired fighting for peace, or you die
These are portion of quotes mentioned by John Lennon. I personally think he is one of the greatest human ever lived this earth. He is only driven by love and peace to lead his life and with those two principles held together in a very strong bond he managed to start a revolution that not only ended the Vietnam War but also triggered the resignation of President Nixon before he (John Lennon) was murdered in 1980.

Malay film industry
Yesterday I was watching a malay movie called CUCI at cinema. Starring Hans Isaac, AC Mizal, Awie, and Afdlin Shauki. It was a good comedy, and I kinda excited watching the first few minutes of the movie, not because Hans was in there, but because I was going to watch something relaxing and enjoying. I have been working like a dog for the past weeks. Working late night till 4am including Saturdays and Sundays is not really something what people call “life”. Seriously, I have lost it all since the first day I joined an audit firm. So watching CUCI is something I considered tussling-for-life. Nothing so great about the movie, but there was nothing apalling about it. No harm in watching it. Sadly, there are majority of Malaysians have a negative perception in watching malay films. Why? Because they are made in Malaysia. I always wonder why Malaysians think local made is nowhere near imported goods. Is not that I don’t go for Prada shoes or Christian Dior handbags, or Braun Buffel’s purse but I am not scared to admit that I have a number of Padini shoes and Soda shirts also some Vincci bags. I am not going to deny that I have watched “Baik Punya Cilok”, Cicakman and some other malay films. I mean, why should I be afraid of being condemned by some stupid Malaysians who thinks highly of people other than their own. “I would never pay to watch malay movies at cinema”. Hmm..let’s just think of that one phrase. If you don’t pay to watch, how do you expect malay film industry is going to expand when they have no supporters from their own people? How do you possibly think that they are going to survive and produce better films, if you don’t support them? If you don’t pay to watch, they wont get their returns, and how do you think they can find money to produce an improved film? How can they go international if their film is not even accepted locally?
Honestly in my opinion, I agree that malay movies have yet to produce anything like first class Hollywood movies. However, I think that we are moving towards that direction because we have witnessed hi-tech superhero movies, frightening horror and traumatic serial killer movies as well as high class comedy films entering box office and some parts of overseas market. Of course we cannot compare “Cicakman” with “Spiderman”, or “Trauma” with “Saw” or “Jangan Pandang Belakang with “Exorcist” but moving forward, I believe that we are able to be at par with international movies, we should be able to enter more overseas market I know we are getting there and it does not matter even if it takes 20 more years to realize it. The film producers have played their parts in the industry. More than 10 years ago, low class malay love story films being produced such as “Sembilu 1,2,3,4,5,6….”, “Ringgit Kasorga”, “Maria Mariana” and many more. Why these films were classified as low class? I think the dialogs were too boring and mostly artificial. They didn’t really portray reality of life. “Perlukah aku lakukan semua ini?”, “Sanggup kah kau hidup semati dengan ku?” and blablabla…what the hell!! We don’t talk like that in real life. However, in the recent years, they have come out with good dialogs incorporating bahasa melayu pasar and some English. That is a starting point of something. That’s how we talk. They just have to improve their production and marketing strategy. The public on the other hand, have got to play their role in ensuring our film industry accomplishes its goal. I believe that Malaysian film producers do value our critics and feedbacks. We can’t comment if we don’t watch, and they can’t improve, if you don’t criticize.
Malaysian Film industry will never go far as we claim it to be if we don’t show support. “Support the local or there will never be one”.
