I actually have a lot of things to write. To express. I have mixed feeling. Well mostly not a good one.
It's still raya month and honestly, I don't feel raya at all. I have a lot of open houses' invitation but I have only been to one friend's house where I managed to see most of my friends alhamdulillah.
I dunno how do I begin.
I found out I am pregnant, alhamdulillah. Bad morning sickness in the first three months. My toddler getting her tantrum sync in ever since. My maid is on one month leave and not sure if she is coming back. Mom's maid that is supposed to take care of my daughter ran away after one week. Brothers in-law wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl (prolly the only good news so far). First temporary babysitter rejected my daughter on the second day. Found another expensive, troublesome babysitter. Dad diagnosed with terminal illness. That's the latest.
I can't write all these in one entry. I will find time to share n vent out. I will. Coz at times I feel so out of the world. And I just break down and cry.
Semoga Allah kuatkan hati Dan semangat. Ameen.

2014
Happy new year to readers and anyone who happens to come across this blog sengaja atau tak sengaja.
So it is a new year again. New resolution? Aaahhh.. not so new you know. Been having the same wish list for quite some time.
Lose weight lose weight and lose MORE weight.
My wish list for 2014....
1. Lose 10kg.
Last year I wished to lose 20kg, and I only managed to lose 17.5kg after birth. oh well.. now I think I have gained some again. Let's just focus on 10kg shall we.
2. Breasfeed to 1.5 yo.
I had targeted to breasfeed up to 1 yo last year and I managed to Alhamdulillah. This year I want to push it over to at least 1.5 y.o. I don't know about weaning off, haven't thought about that. I have no heart to do that to her, let's just stick to this one first.
3. Start swimming
Not a new wish. I need to find time. My husband says I can't swim because I can't float hence I can't swim under deep water. But as long as I can get from one point to another without walking in the water (although I can only do that under water that has depth less than 1.5m) I still consider that swimming!
4. Open SSPN account for Iris
Last year we planned to open her ASB account when she reached 6 months old (the minimum age). And we did, Alhamdulillah. Money that we received as gift when I gave birth to her and during aqiqah, all are deposited in her asb account. Next is SSPN for education.
5. Open ASNB account
This is new for me. I have ASB account which I have maximised so I need another saving plan.
6. Run 10k again
Last year I wanted to run half marathon, can you believe that?????!!! Ni sama la case macam nak lose 20kg. Let's go back to reality shall we? Resume my 10k run!
7. Khatam Quran again
I have always wanted to do this for so many years. And never managed to. I must do this again. I MUST!!
8. Open tabung haji account
I need to open this account and register for haj. God knows when is my turn if I register this year. Dah tua kerepot agaknya.
9. 5 family vacation
We didn't go anywhere in 2013. Not even PD! The last holiday was Korea in September 2012. oh my god. So we must compensate this year.
10. Get pregnant
Ha? What? Are you sure? Letak je boleh? heeheeheh
InsyaAllah... kita hanya merancang dan berusaha, Allah yang menentukan.

Doa Taubat
I was browsing through You Tube to listen to Zikir Munajat, and I came across this nasyid on doa taubat. I have heard it few times from the TV, but never really know the lyrics.
Ilaa hilaastu lil Firdausi ahla,
Walaa aqwaa,
'Alaa naaril jahiimi,
Allah,
Fahablii taubatan waghfir dzunuubii,
Fainnaka ghaafirun dzambil,
'Adziimi
Tuhanku, aku tidak layak untuk syurgamu,
Tetapi aku tidak pula sanggup menaggung siksa nerakamu,
dari itu kurniakan lah ampunan kepadaku,
ampunkanlah dosaku,
sesungguhnya, engkaulah pengampun, dosa-dosa besar
Not only the melody of the song is soo pleasing and symphonious,
the lyrics... made me cried.

My name is
When I was in school, I had a senior whose name was Mohd Izrin.
Back then, I got to know that there was another boy in school by the name of Izrin.
When I tell people my name is Izrin, people would spell my name with double E - Izreen. (Izrin sounds so boyish, I guess)
I have not known any girl that shares the same name as mine,
I started to doubt about the feminism of my name.
So I asked my mom.
She said she named me after a girl she barely knew back in college. She was tall, slim, pretty, rich and was driving a sportscar. Although I do not carry any of the above criteria, I am genuinely happy that at least there is another girl in this world that has Izrin as her name.
After so long, today I discovered something...

Part-time job
Despite from being busy in this frantic and unhealthy lifestyle, I wish to do something more motivating and uncommon to my usual daily work life. That could give me a different kind of experience that I can never gain from audit. So I started browsing the internet to look for part-time/freelance job.
I wish to do the followings for my extracurricular activities. Timing is a different issue. If there’s opportunity, I will grab it and give my best. At least I can do something that I have always been dreaming of doing.
1. Be a member of any women society and help disadvantaged single women.
2. Volunteer runner/organizing event committee for a one day event.
3. Part-time preparing financial statements/book keeping for newly set up companies.
4. Provide private home tuition for a negotiable fee
A bit too ambitious, don’t you think? But…I am serious though.

Bantu lah wanita ini
Please have a read on this article.
Wan Aishah cekal hadapi dugaan
The family is seeking some financial support, so please do support wherever possible. The least we can do it to extend our prayers for her and her family. Semoga mereka dapat teruskan hidup dengan tabah.
I know this lady personally as I am a friend of her daughter. It is soo sad to know about her condition and as a friend, I cannot imagine the things that she has to go through.
My brother was once a cancer patient. I can still remember how I felt when the doctor broke the news. And I can still recall those sleepless nights when I just quietly asked from God to take me instead.
But this.... this is different. It's her mother. Tempat bermanja, tempat mengadu, tempat bergurau....... I really hope that she can be strong, so her mother can be as strong as her. When there's sthrength, happiness, there are always brighter chance of getting cured. Atau sekurang-kurangnya...sakit tu tak rasa...
Permudahkan lah, Amin.
We are in the midst of collecting funds to be donated to her family. So for those who are interested to donate kindly email me at iz_iryna@yahoo.com or you can call the number shown in the article.

The holiday
If not because of the important meeting I had this afternoon, I wouldn’t have gone to work.
It is very trying to be waking up early on a Monday morning when you know everyone in your house or your neighborhood is on holiday.
It really doesn’t help to be living in Selangor, when you actually work in KL.
Worst, when you are about to leave the house you found that your house helper is still sleeping.
Your cats are sleeping.
No sound of car honks.
The sky was very gloomy.
Think it was about to rain.
Angin sepoi-sepoi bahasa.
Cobaan.
Oh Well, the traffic was smooth.
Thanks to Selangorean for taking up the holiday seriously.

Jeles.

you can cancel
your annual visit to your neurologist.
Your brain is great and you're far from having Al
zheimer Disease.
Congratulations!

What is Beauty...
I came across an interesting documentary on Discovery Science on the subject beauty.
over centuries it has been debated on the universal accepted term of beauty. Kings of ancient time regard round and big bellies are nice and beautiful. However that is no longer the case in modern days.
I say that is no longer the case because we can hardly see an 'unattractive' people on billboard, magazines, TV or even radio. A character in FRIENDS (Joey to be precise) once mentioned "...then I would have done it all...drama, movie and musical...radio...everybody knows that's for ugly people"
But even so, that is probably arguable. Humans often associate beauty with good and best quality.
Another aspect which caught my intention watching the show was the relation between mathematics and science of beauty. The Romans came up with the idea that the closer the proportionality of human body parts to the ratio 1 : 1.618, the more attractive you are.
What the Romans are trying to say is that every part of our body is subject to mathematical equation and the theory is that if you divide the distance from the top of your head to the naval and bottom of your feet to your naval, it will give you the ratio 1 : 1.618.
Homer here will help us illustrate it further:

It does not only stop there, you can go on to other parts of the body, eg: width of the lips to the width of the nose, width of your front teeth to the next smallest teeth next to it, our fingers and so on.
Scientists also claim that top athletes tend to have a beautiful physical appearance. Their argument is backed up by this ancient Roman theory. The smaller the difference in size of our left hand side limbs as oppose to our right hand limbs, the more attractive you are and hence the more athletic you are. But they conclude that this is just an assumption based on human ability of balance. The ears play a role in giving us balance when we walk, run , cycle etc.
They are probably right to assume that as well, just look at Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney and Ronaldinho to name a few. These are top football players and they are probably regarded as 'unattractive' to some modeling agencies.
Rugby players are probably excluded since their faces and body are subject to force and pressure. Some of them are rather good looking, eg Gavin Henson, Daniel Carter, Dani Cipriani and so on.
Scientists developed the theory and enhanced it further to make a scaled mask that is now used by plastic surgeons in their tasks of 'repairing' facial 'deformity'.
That 'mask' is not really a mask, it is only a set of lines and triangles drawn over a person's face. The better your face fit the lines, the more attractive you are.
Tom Cruise and Elizabeth Hurley are those few people who are blessed with attractive features as shown on the show.
But the highlight of the show was the phrase "Beauty isn't a passport to success, it is just a Visa which expires". Which is why plastic surgeons are becoming more in demand these days. Humans can never be satisfied with their 'visa'. They will always find ways to extend them as long as they can. Some people in this country are also subject to this perhaps.

When work is not everything
This was forwarded to my inbox by a friend:
A must read small touching story ....
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his
5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what is it?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?'
the man said
angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an
hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make Rs.100 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow Rs.50?'
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you
can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then
you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about
why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this
childish behavior.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and
started to get even angrier about the little
boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some
money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to
think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that
Rs.50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to
the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the
man.
'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the
Rs.50 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' He
yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry
again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up
at his father.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father
grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Daddy, I have Rs.100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?
Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with
you.'
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he
begged for his forgiveness.
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We
should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some
time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
Do remember to share that Rs.100 worth of your time with someone you
love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily
replace us in a matter of days.
But the
family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the
rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than to our family.

Please Read Carefully
I was moved to have a further reading about this reductill slimming pills that Izrin is plannning to take in her quest to lose weight. Not that I am against it, I just want her to take that approach cautiously since there are plenty of conditions that she has to be aware of and take into account. And yes there are many celebrities who drink their water and eat their food with those pills in order to make them fill full fast and hence lose weight faster. But I'm sure that those acts are done with close supervision by themselves or their highly paid dietician, or personal doctor whatsoever.
If you are planning to take those pills...remember before you start swallowing the very first one...that you should keep track of the dosage and number of pills you are supposed to take. And please keep track of other medications that you might need to take that will render you from continuing with reductill. Not that I don't want you to lose weight..I am more concern of your health more than anything else when it comes to this.

please read the information available in the above link so that you can prepare yourself better before making an appointment with the physician or doctor...
don't just listen blindly to what other people have to say about the wonders of those pills...remember wonderful things may bring wonderful consequences if you don't anticipate them. something to prepare mentally perhaps...
