Trilogy Completed

Liverpool FC played against Arsenal 3 times in a row in their last 3 games which just ended earlier. Most headlines in UK read its the ultimate trilogy sort of like a Movie kind of thing.

The first two matches were played in London on Arsenal's ground which ended 1-1 on both occasion. Many predict that the final game would be even closer and many agreed that it would probably be another draw. How wrong were they.

It could not have started any worse for Liverpool as they were outplayed by Arsenal in the early exchange of the game which eventually gave Arsenal the lead through Abou Diaby. It was probably down to Reina's goalkeeping error for letting in the ball past his near post.

But it got better towards halftime as Sami Hyypia leveled for Liverpool from a powerful header from Steven Gerrard's corner kick. As halftime approached the score remained the same.

Liverpool started the 2nd half attacking the KOP END. Peter Crouch made a rare start for this game and almost scored one himself early in the 2nd period of the game. As the game went by it was evenly balanced until a moment of brilliance from Fernando Torres to score and made it 2-1 to Liverpool. As he scored the 2nd goal my brother and I were jumping and screaming only to realise that our parents were in bed. Just as I thought that we might wake them up, my dad came out from his room and joined us to watch the rest of the game.

As it stands now, Liverpool lead 3-2 on aggregate. But Arsenal need only a goal to progress on away goal rules and it got worse for us, a magical and brilliant run from Theo Walcott made the entire Liverpool team look like Malaysian Footballers before slotting a pass to Adebayor to score that goal they needed. And it was looking really bad now.

Just a minute after the restart, Kolo Toure was adjudged to have fouled Ryan Babel in the penalty area and gave away a penalty kick. Up comes Captain Fantastic to take the spot kick and he converted it. Liverpool back in the lead!!!

Just to make it sure, Ryan Babbel outran Cesc Fabregas to score the fourth goal to make it 4-2 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate. It was a cruel exit for Arsenal but there was no denying it was Liverpool's night.Liverpool through to the semifinals and will now play Chelsea. As a Liverpool Fan I hope the magnitude of these Arsenal games will spur them on to knock Chelsea out again for the third time at the very same stage.

When you walk through a storm
hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
